Join us on May 31st, 3:00pm for an eloquent collection of Russian, Polish and Ukranian sacred and traditional songs.
In the magnificent setting of historical Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in Detroit, our last concert of the 2008-2009 season will feature such composers as Chesnokov, Sviridov, Szymanowski and Rachmaninoff. The Detroit Concert Choir's own Piotr Szawiela guest conducts a unique segment of Polish music, ranging from medieval hymns and compositions of the Polish Renaissance to folk song arrangements and contemporary sacred music. Featured artists include James Moore Jr., tenor; Michele Marszalkowski, soprano; and Marko Farion, bass, who will also play the Bandura, a Ukrainian folk instrument.
