Anita Schettenhelm (Soprano) comes from a musical family, nearly every member of which is either a singer or plays a musical instrument or both. Her father is an accomplished accordionist and baritone. Anita was born with a passion for music and singing and has either sung in or directed choirs from the age of seven.

Early on, training with Carolyn Curtis, she learned many of the great classical and sacred works of Beethoven, Bach, Handel, Mendelssohn, Vivaldi and many others. She has also worked with Dr. C. Robert Barnard, who describes her voice as having flute-like tones while others have described it as angelic and like a bolt of silk floating out over the balcony.

A much sought after soloist, Anita has sung many of the arias from Handel’s Messiah including “I Know That My Redeemer Liveth”, “If With All Your Hearts” from the Oratorio “Elijah” by Mendelssohn, “Gesu Bambino” by Pietro Yon and “Pie Jesu” from the requiem by Gabriel Fauré as well as many others. She enjoys singing duets as well, and has performed with Elizabeth Buchanan, Amie Johnston, Michele Marszalkowski, Candice Miller, and Anamaria Ylizaliturri.
