(Tenor) Russell is a former professor of pharmacology that retired after teaching and doing research for 32 years at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He studied vocal technique with Edward Kingins and has performed with the Fort Street Chorale, Ad Hoc Chamber Choir, Community Chorus of Detroit, Christ Church Grosse Pointe Chorale, Canticum Novum, and the Meadowbrook Festival Chorus. He is a founding member of the Lime Lake Choral Society and has performed in Japan as a member of the group’s touring company. Russell joined the Detroit Concert Choir in 2003 where he enjoys the challenges of a capella singing. He also dabbles with guitar and is interested in computer technology for music production.
