Rose (Soprano) has been with the Detroit Concert Choir since the 2001/2002 season.

Originally from Michigan, she spent most of her childhood in Florida. Rose started singing at a young age thanks to her mothers encouragement. She wanted her daughter to use the gift God had given her. Rose’s first attempt at opera came in the 3rd grade when she performed in “Amahl and the Night Visitors”.

Rose participated in many choirs and drama groups throughout her school years. She played the female lead role in “Oklahoma” her junior year in High School and also was a member of the Vocal Hand Bell Choir. After graduating Rose started private vocal training that lasted 9 years and provided many opportunities to perform. She sang for weddings, including her own, funerals and did voice-overs for an international music company.

Rose has been involved in Community Theater playing Trudy in “Green Fried Tomatoes” and also has performed in benefit concerts to support local causes. She was a member of the Macomb Community College Chamber Choir for 2 years singing a wide variety of musical styles.

Rose spent 2 years living in London, England where she took piano lessons and sang in local churches. While in Wales, she discovered the International Music Festival in Llangollen, which inspired her to join an international choir and take her experience to the next level. She considers it an honor to be a part of the Detroit Concert Choir, learning from such talented, warm and gifted people.
